We are very excited to invite you to our next Black Ink webinar on 23 February 2022, in which we will be discussing the Australian property and development market.
We will be discussing how underlying tenancy, investment, financing and construction trends have evolved since Australia began relaxing restrictions in late 2021, and how current and anticipated factors like the Omicron wave, global inflationary pressures and recent equity market volatility influence our range of sector and sub-market investment performance forecasts in the next 12-24 months.
Some of the key features of the property market we’re seeing include:
- Portfolio rebalancing across commercial property sectors as investor strategies evolve to reflect:
- Ongoing challenges facing retail tenants
- A strong and growing appetite for defensive assets in the logistics supply chain
- Differing views about the role CBD offices will play in post-COVID recovery.
- An evolving residential development market, where:
- Strong purchaser demand and development finance availability is offset against potentially increasing construction costs and risk
- The national landscape of owner occupier and investor activity taking new shape as interstate and international migration trends begin to form a post-COVID, longer term trend.
Our Presenters will be Brook Monahan and John Robson.
With close to 20 years’ experience in property development, design, construction, finance and funds management, Brook brings a wealth of knowledge to his role as Founder and Managing Director of Mosaic Property Group. Mosaic is a fully integrated design-led, development and construction business operating predominantly in South East Queensland. John leads Deloitte’s Real Estate Debt and Capital Advisory business, and assists a broad range of developer, investor and lender clients in the property sector across Australia and New Zealand, acting as their financial and strategic advisor to help structure and fund projects, investments and/or joint ventures.
